I thought it was enough with saving the jpg files in any folder (i just created a "wallpapers" folder in the folder "my documents" and then just to use them with the option "set wallpaper". am i wrong? Sorry, but iḿ just a newbie (one weekend in pclxde -my first distro without M$ Winbug$).

No, you are not wrong, if it works for you. In my original post, I outline how to add wallpapers to your system and how to apply them. This method allows all users of the system to have access to the new wallpapers and to use them or not at their choice.
Melodie responded with a different method which is user centric.
There is often more than one way to accomplish a task. Some tasks really should be done a certain way but when it comes to how you set up your Desktop look 'n feel, choose what works for you. Your freedom to choose is part of what makes Linux so great.
