When you add one of these scripts, by adding a link to the script on the page for the full screen version, and adding a link and a div tag for the fit to image version they will be converted into a click to close popup show which works and looks much nicer than the original. The scripts can be used, or modified for use with any type of open the image in the same window album.

Writing the fit to image script was quite a challenge. It pre-loads the images in a hidden form so that javascript can get the size information, which is then written into the links and used to tell the popup window what size it should be.
