If you could do the RPM as suggested, I could ask people with eeePC machines to test it. I know that with the changes I made (then changed wlan.sh) then the Fn-Fx keys do work on the eeePC900, and I'm pretty sure they do across other models too. Other variations in hardware are no better/worse than other differences in hardware from one PC to the next.
Having an rpm that can install, and more importantly, uninstall, cleanly, will help others to test it.
That said, I don't have my eeePC right now, I have loaned it to someone, will have access to it sometime in late August!!
