[ -P- GetOpenOffice] translation of po file (todo)
« on: July 16, 2009, 08:39:45 AM »
Hi everybody,

hopefully GOO is now final with version 0.6. Please find attached some po-files for translation. Could you please download the archive, remove the extension '.txt', choose your language (de, it, es, sr), use poedit to translate the file, and then upload the file here for the packagers.
To setup yet another language from the included file GetOpenOffice.pot, open a shell where GetOpenOffice.pot is located and enter:
Code: [Select]
msginit -l fi -i GetOpenOffice.pot -o ~/fi.pothis for Finnish. Then open the po-file with poedit, goto Catalog -> Settings, Project info Tab: in the field 'Project name and version' insert: GetOpenOffice 0.6, insert language and country and under 'Source code charset': utf-8. You must insert these fields or you can not save the edited file!

thanks a lot for your help!
-pinoc

The extract showed me an error. A check with "file GOOpot.zip" revealed

Quote
GOOpot.zip: Zip archive data, at least v1.0 to extract

In Synaptic, however, the libzip in version 0.9, you have the zip archive under Windows or Mac? Under Linux, you should in my opinion, free formats such as tar or so prefer.

many greetings

Das entpacken ergab bei mir einen Fehler. Eine Überprüfung mit "file GOOpot.zip" ergab

yes, packed on a Mac but unpacked without any issues on a MiniME install using the unzip command.
Anyway, please wait 2 or 3 days because I want to add something to GOO 0.9 and will then post the updated po-files here, using tar.gz  ;)

Hello pinoc,

bz2 and tar.bz2 offer higher compression. I use it this way:

Code: [Select]
tar cfvj my-directory.tar.bz2 my-directory
There is p7zip which is still much better to compress, using lzma. The Slitaz distribution even uses lzma to compress all the packages that are in their repositories. Smaller size data and faster delivered to the users and installed on their machines. ;)

the trick is actually, from within the 3 commands available : 7z, 7za, and 7zr, I would not tell anyone what is the difference from one to the other. I'll try to get deeper in there soon.

please find attached a po-file for getopenoffice version 1.1. This file contains German translations which should be replaced by French (or any other language). The file is preconfigured for French but you can change the Catalog settings to any other language as well.

Melodie,
could you please download this file (remove the ending .txt), open it in poedit, translate all entries, save the file and post it back here so it can be included in GOO.

thanks in advance,
-pinoc
