3. run "make install" from the top of the package directory.
4. run "hsfconfig" to complete the installation and configure your modem.

Having problems at step 4

Where is the linux source build directory that matches your running kernel?
[/usr/src/linux] <------where is the PCLinuxOS source build directory? I'm running PCLinuxOS 2009.2

I just want to configure my modem so that I can send foxes anytime I need to...

Which kernel are you using?  I've got two choices in mine, at the moment:
linux-2.6.26.8.tex3/
linux-2.6.22.15.tex2/

If you are running 2009.2 you should use this, I think:
/usr/src/linux-2.6.26.8.tex3/
if you have the kernel source installed?

What makes you think I know anything?  I'm just guessing, based on my own setup.  What I would do, if it were me, which rarely ends in success.

:) Joble do I know anything? I have tried to help but I knew not enough obviously so I suggested Advanced Users section topic since the installation is OOR... I know that You know more than I do and that you will try to help. And I know Youre friendly. That could be enough to sort our new friend out...

After being unable to install my modem driver yesterday, this morning I was able to install it in less then 5 minutes by creating an RPM
using: Alternatively to this whole procedure you may generate RPMS from the tar package using rpmbuild -ta hsfmodem-{version}.tar.gz

rpm -ivh hsfmodem-7.80.02.04full-1.i586.rpm
