.RAR mime magic

As many of us are noticed, sometimes, some of the archive files, created on other OS, like .RAR and .7z, do not viewed properly, as they supposed to. After a clean install of our beloved PCLOS 2009.1, there are still same troubles viewing content of .RAR and .7z archive files in Konqueror and Krusader. So, if you wanna see this files viewed by content, just like .ZIP, do the folowing:

Go to KDE Control Center -> File Associations -> type rar, you will see application -> x-rar.
Now press Add button, select Group = application and type: x-rar-compressed. Fill necessary field on the right side - filename patterns = *.rar; *.RAR, Description = Rar Archive. On the Embedding tab, select: Show file in embeded viewer, Ask whether to save to disk instead, Services preference order = Archiver (ark_part), click Apply and you're done! Wink Just do not forget, to delete original x-rar mimetype, it's obsolete.

Now, in Konqueror, any time you click on the .rar file, you'll see it's contents opened right in the same window Wink

Thigs are little bit tricky in Krusader, you have to enter Settings -> Configure Krusader -> Protocols, then from "Mimes" box, you have to find a newly created "x-rar-compressed" mimetype, and add him to "krarc" chain of protocols. After that, you have to delete "x-rar" mimetype from this very same chain, so only "x-rar-compressed" left there.

That's all folks, hope this will help Wink

Thanks to everyone who donates. You keep the servers running.
