Kickoff crashes in Configuration Menu
« on: July 07, 2009, 05:47:07 AM »
I'm using the Kickoff menu, and recently (today actually) discovered something weird. Whenever i go thru Application / System and then to Configuration, Kickoff crashes immediately!

So i thought maybe some menu item is causing it, so i did menu edit, went there, and everything is as it should be. So, i tried using regular K-Menu, and it's working great too. So my last check was going with Konquerer / Application / System and Configuration and again, works great! i can't find anything faulty! i never even edited anything in that area that may cause it.

Can anyone explain / tell how to repair this? and what more can i test to fix this issue?  :-\

I can't explain it, but I can confirm that it happens to me too, although not when in the same spot that it happens with you.  With me, it happens when I try to invoke a certain program from Wine. I get a "The application KDE Panel (kicker) crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV)."  Like you though, it works when I use the regular KDE Menu.  It's only Kickoff that this happens in.

I had this after adding an item to the menu. Can't remember what and where as it was after installing 2009.1. Never got it fixed.
Not missing kickoff anyway

I never added an item to the configuration menu, the only time i added manually an item was to the emulators section  :o
I love kickoff, it's far more advanced, the regular kmenu just reminds me of XP  ;D
