I stepped away from the evil compiler (burned out), got sick and noticed TexStar had sneaked the drivers in while I wasn't looking (What a gentleman!). Updating the system now and will report back.

P.s. Does anyone want a used cold, only one owner? I didn't want it in the first place!

Okay, installed but still stuck. Went into Kaffeine as suggested, it does have a DVB section now but when I turn it on and click "Apply", I get a "Can't bind info socket" ?

I have no idea what to do at this point.

Tried tvtime tv viewer as well and it can't find an input source.

Control centre says there is DVB hardware there now.

Hey Flappy..

Yeah Tex is doing so much right now it's hard to believe he's even human..  ;D

Open Synaptic and locate Kaffeine..  Click it then browse to the "Package" menu, then "Force Version"..  Pick the .8.7 version and not the 8.8

Install it and then retry DVB..

Good luck,

Thank you kind sir, I will try it after another sleep. Seems I am getting worse instead of better.

The worse things with getting sick is that I keep forgetting all my stock of bad jokes!!!

I've only added the firmware package for the device. I have not completed the dkms driver package as yet.

Thanks to everyone who donates. You keep the servers running.

The device needs two parts. It needs to load firmware into the device to function but it also needs a device driver to work. I've only done 1 of the 2 packages it needs to function.

Thanks. I am getting a good education out of this while I am sick. Now I hope my tiny brain retains this when I am better:):):)

Now, if some sick kids on the bus will over their mouths and stop respraying me with stuff, I might just live ling enough for the rest!

Well, I can sit upright without getting dizzy and no longer cough all day long. Woohoo!

Ready to tackle this thing again and there will be one less problem to solve:):)

Must say that I am enjoying PcLos 2009.2 on a 640Gig external SATA through eSATA bay. It's fun.
* Flappy slinks out to check the repos for fun new stuff.

I've just bought an MSI Digi Vox mini II V3.0 USB stick and would need to get it to work, too.

@Texstar:
Are you still working on a kernel module? Would be great!

Some rotten kid gave me yet another cold, oh, the inhumanity!!

In the meantime, I got myself a new dual-tuner USB digital thingy from DigitalNow and they kindly point to the right places to get this going. Wish me luck!!!

Mind you, I am greedy and still want to get the LeadTek thingy going too.
* Flappy walks away panting...gigabytes of trash to record for when I am sick next time, 3 tuners, no waiting, oh boy!!

hi, I also have one of these and would like to use it but have the same dramas - I followed the instructions and still get

FATAL: Module dvb_usb_af9015.fw not found.

is there a anything available yet?

it is frustrating because I specifically bought this so that I could use it with linux - it was listed all over the place as working with linux, but then so were the two wireless adapters sitting uselessly in my desk drawer.
