This Might Be a Stupid Question...<Solved>

but... is this the same project that used to be called SamLinux?  It was xfce based off PCLinuxOS.  I saw a reference to it moving to another distribution base.  Where did it go?  

Just curious.

Hi there..

No this is a completely different spin of PCLOS..  Sam Linux hasn't been updated in a long time so Sproggy has taken over and overhauled it completely..

The title is misleading, it brought me here wishing to see some stupid question but no, is not stupid  :P

I really need to get back to work and stop fooling around   :D  my desk is full of papers and I have two more boxes at my right.

Suddenly I have a need to burn things  ???  where is that lighter?

There was a Samlinux. It was a PCLinuxOS based distro. You can still find references to it on google. It still exists. But it wont be PCLinuxOS based anymore. That was my understanding.

If I'm not mistaken Phoenix is taking over that spot. Being the XFce based PCLinuxOS distro.

Melodie, the lighter was promptly requested for other people, sorry  ;)

Sam Linux was the PCLOS remaster that used xfce and it hasn't been updated in a long time.

If you want xfce in your PCLOS you can either download it from repos or (best option I think) wait the final release of Phoenix, you can try the beta, Sproggy is making a great job.

Last December I made a TMLinux remaster with educative software from the repos as a gift for friends, some teachers who saw it asked me one so I just finished a PCLOS remaster and (from my point of view) is good, too bad Phoenix is still beta because is the way to go if you want to work from a live CD or just have old computers.  Go Sproggy Go   ;D
