lomanager 3.6.5-1 coming to your repo approximately next Wednesday.
Following the tradition to release the latest RC as final you can already install 3.6.5 with the updated offline installers for 32bit and 64bit as outlined in the original post under 1b) Alternative offline installation:

Hi there!
I was trying - more or less desperately - to install LO via LO-Manager 3.6.4 (3.6.4-3, according to synaptic), but every time the script aborts with a message like 'download failed'. Here's the konsole-output:

stdin: is not a tty

Internet connection working

/usr/bin/konqueror

Hi Marek,

maybe there was a short interruption of your internet connection. Since LO3.6.5 is coming out very soon, I would suggest you follow the steps in original post under 1b) Alternative offline installation:. This is very easy and will give you the latest version 3.6.5. You can then add the German language support with the new lomanager 3.6.5 once it is in the repo AND it is officially published by the LibreOffice team.

good luck,
-p.

Thnx pinoc,
I do as suggested - again, thnx. I tried out other distros, but only shortly, PCLinuxOS simply is the best!

@pinoc - my lomanager is version 3.6.5-1 in synaptic (using heanet repo) but fails with the "cannot load libreoffice package" message or something close to that.  I ran it again to fully remove LO thinking maybe that bit failed but no luck.  So..I was then faced with no LO of any sort in my installation.

The failure message mentioned the original post "1b Alternative Offline Installation"  I followed those easy instructions and it worked FINE.  I am LO'ing again.

Not sure if my experience is a new wrinkle or just something in my install.

Final question:  can I safely clean up my home directory by removing the LO-rpms folder and the original zip file?

Thanks for your work!!!

yes, you can clean out LO-rpms in your home folder if you no longer need it elsewhere.

LibreOffice has just released their latest version 3.6.5 and you can now use lomanager to install or add additional languages to your LibreOffice.

lomanager 4.0.0-1 coming to your repo soon.
Updated offline installers for 32bit and 64bit are available as outlined in the original post under 1b) Alternative offline installation:

The upgrade from 3.6.5 to 4.0.0 should be smooth. In case you want to go back to the previous version 3.6.5 please first uninstall version 4.0.0 and then use the offline installers for 3.6.5. I will leave the 3.6.5 offline installers on the server for the next months.

I got the LO-rpms folder
When I apply the command:

Johnmart,

that message indicates that you are running the wrong version of the OfflineInstaller on your PC, 32bit OfflineInstaller on 64bit or vice versa.
There is also a good chance that you already had a LO-rpms directory in your home folder before you extracted the OfflineInstaller. In this case you will get multiple packages inside, so please delete any previous LO-rpms folder before extracting the new OfflineInstaller. In fact, I will include this test in the next version.

good luck!
