reboot your system, the error is due to a dbus upgrade that require a reboot.

I always reboot after updating.  I changed from my NL based repository to the PASS server and did another update to be as updated as possible. (this update included the latest Virtualbox version)

By the way: when I updated in Synaptic I got a message saying "APT system reports" W: some errors occurred while running transaction".

I then marked Gconf2 and Dbus for reinstall and did a reboot.

Then this is what I got running lomanager as root.  I get this on my desktop and on my laptop.

Code: [Select]
[root@xxxx]# stdin: is not a tty

Internet connection working

/usr/bin/konqueror

Hi Mellon,
- independent of lomanager does konqueror run at all?
- when you run lomanager: what is the content of the last window message?
- post the content of /tmp/lomanager-install.log
- if your system is not fully updated did you try to run: lomanager --no-updatetest
-p.

Hi Pinoc,

Right after I choose English (United Kindom) as New Locale I get the message box about removing the rpm files. I click Yes. I then get the message box about the dictionary file which is then covered by a new window which reads:
"Download and Installation canceled". Please use the offline-installer described in Important Notes 1b in the lomanager-thread."

Here is the content of lomanager-install.log

Well. The openssl issue seems to be known

http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php/topic,99356.msg842983.html#msg842983

and I fixed it following the instructions to create the directory and the link to it.

The install now continued but broke off at a point during the deletion of the old version. So I rebooted and once again ran lomanager which now completed but ended with the following

Quote
/usr/bin/lomanager: line 1185:  4429 Killed                  $ZEN2 --title="$TITLE" --info --timeout 4 --text "Verifying and extracting LO-help package..."
tee: standard output: Broken pipe
tee: write error

LO is installed on my desktop.

On my Laptop the solution for openssl did not work. When I opened Konquerer and put in the https://stuwww.uvt.nl/ url I got repeated messages about certificates.

It was not until I copied the ca-bundle.crt file and squid.perm file from my desktop to my laptop directory at /etc/pki/tls/certs/ and set the permissions as they are on my desktop that the install continued.

So version 3.5.2. is finally running on two machines.

Hmm. The main question remains. What happened between 3.5.1 and 3.5.2 that caused this issue?

that

tee: standard output: Broken pipe
tee: write error

is not an error but normal behavior when writing to the window is terminated and the window is closed.

and that

means that the LibreOffice main server redirects Dutch users to this LO-server in the Netherlands. Nothing I can do about that. No idea why the LO-guys choose a https-server which requires you to do the additional openssl-steps. Thanks for the hint though, I will include this step in the next lomanager to ensure this problem will not appear in the future.

and finally that

updated lomanager 3.5.2-3 now includes rootcerts dependency and test/fix for proper openssl setup which might be needed by some local LibreOffice servers.

Hi Hoos,

any good reason you run lomanager as root? You shouldn't.

You have a Dutch localization but in which country are you, meaning to which country will the LO-server redirect you, looks like the US, correct?
you already have the latest lomanager version installed and it seems downloading the base pack works but then the verification fails, is that correct? Please run lomanager as normal user from a konsole and report back
- what is the content of the last window message?
- post the content of /tmp/lomanager-install.log
- any other details which you think could be relevant.

The problem seems to be the dbus thingy, I got around it by using
'lomanager --no-updatetest', because I also got the message that
I had to update my system which is fully updated.
Well, that sort of thing.

no, dbus has nothing to do with installing LibreOffice but with launching Konqueror. And Konqueror, or another browser, is only launched if some kind of error is encountered. Then the information to correct this error is displayed in a website, i.e., how to properly update your system in case your system is not fully updated. So you say you are fully updated but lomanager thinks different, that is interesting. What is the content of /tmp/LO_STEP00.log? That should tell you which programs are not updated according to the test inside lomanager. In fact I trust this test very much, even more than your words, so I'd be interested to find out who of the two is right, lomanager or you. And if you are correct then I have to fix the test inside lomanager. Maybe you have pinned packages?
What is the result of this command, which is the test in lomanager:
Code: [Select]
/usr/bin/su -c 'apt-get dist-upgrade --fix-broken --simulate |tee /tmp/LO_STEP00.log'-p.
