When trying to upgrade the 32 bit version of LO I got the same result as DeBaas. (Download stopped at 100100K, 65%, and the install log reports "md5sum of base-pack failed"). Yesterday the new lomanager worked perfectly on my 64 bit system.

Hi DeBaas and Bald Brick,

I have just successfully upgraded from LO 3.4.5 to LO 3.5.0 on a german localised LXDE 32 bit. I have no idea what could cause the problem you mentioned. You get the error  "md5sum of base-pack failed" because you have an incomplete base-pack so this error message states just that.

DeBaas, what exactly do you mean with
Quote
the download closes after a few sec
the lomanager download progress window?

can you both try again to see if, where, and how it crashes or maybe it works now?  ::)

This time I ran it from a terminal, and after some successful operations I got this:

See for yourself ;)

thanks for the video, I did the same (LO 3.5.0 dutch) and it works just fine, this is very puzzling to me  ::)
If you have some time could you please try to see what happens if you enter the following command in a console:
Code: [Select]
wget -c http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/3.5.0/rpm/x86/LibO_3.5.0_Linux_x86_install-rpm_en-US.tar.gzThis is the same command which causes the crash after some time of downloading, so it should crash as well.

We can remove the option "-c" which  is not really needed but I don't expect that removing it will change anything, or does this work better:
Code: [Select]
wget http://download.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/stable/3.5.0/rpm/x86/LibO_3.5.0_Linux_x86_install-rpm_en-US.tar.gz
-p.

DeBaas,

what the heck is that??? Now this refreshes some old memories.... Can you please try to
1) reboot, then run that again and see if you still get this weirdo error about /root/.kde4/tmp-K7-2400
2) if so, or even if not, then please edit /usr/bin/lomanager and exchange the lines 123 and 124, save the file and run lomanager again, let's see what that does.

please let me know what happens,

Thats the terminal output after changing lines 123 and 124, but still a broken download
Very strange, manual download from the same site no problems at all.

hmm, this is really weird. No idea right now, can you use the offline installer and then run lomanager to add the Dutch files on top of the English_US, does that work? Seems to me the downloading works at least for smaller files with lomanager cause obviously the en_US base is the major part of LO.

that will prefer gksu over kdesu when launching lomanager, in case there is something wrong on a KDE-install but it has no effect for the download problem. Most likely your installation would work equally well without exchanging these lines.
Anyway, there is still the offline installer but I really would like to understand the source of this weirdness..  ::)
