luikki,

When i say a fresh installed and up to date system you can count on 2011.6 KDE in my case. The latest release from end of June. ;)  :D

It rocks, it's awesome, cool and makes you drool.....PcLinuxOs, you rule!

that's good...
i mean using  2011.6 KDE up to date...
so, if you want some help, you'll have to clarify what Nothing works at this end with the lomanager means and what kind of errors you get...

I started te lomanager which is 3.4.1-9, it downloads a bit saying Libre Office Manager 3.4.1: getting LO-base packeges, stops, tries it again, stops and does this 3 to 4 times. After that it shows a error window saying Download and installation canceled.

More i can't tell at the moment.

Later Edit: In the terminal i get the same results as you posted on pastebin.

I'm just throwing this out there...

Is it possible you're having a DNS issue?

I remember GetOpenOffice had some persnickety DNS wants.

I just installed using

198.6.1.5
205.171.3.65
205.171.3.25

Everything went fine.

HTH,

Dave

did you read Roc4fun post and checked dns?

 8) down... have some rest...
it will look easier after that...

edit:

Download and installation canceled
sorry for asking but aren't you cancelling it yourself?
because it is normal the different windows (base pack, help files, and install) vanish for some seconds...

Once the download has started, do you click any buttons? If so, then do not.

Hey DarkEra,
you are right, you can not cancel the download because that option is disabled to prevent people doing just that. What you get seems to be caused by an unstable internet connection; lomanager will download the base-package, and resume the download if it got interrupted up to 4 times, and if it still does not succeed downloading the entire package then it will exit. I suggest you download and run the offline-installer as explained in the Important Notes 1b here.

Melodie,
thanks for confirming that lomanager 3.4.1-9 works.
The fact that abiword or geany or whatever opened is a mal-configuration on your system. The command xdg-open used in lomanager (see the respective man-page for xdg-open) will open the default application for a given mime-type, here a html-page which should be opened with a web-browser, not a text-editor.
In the next lomanager I will add a browser-test to have html-pages opened properly in a web-browser...

@all,
if you are on a 2011.06 install or later you do not need to run aptupgrade because those upgrades are already included. Running it again will do just nothing.

-p.
btw, now at home but still in holidays...

Hi pinoc,

I will try the offline installer later on. But..... when Libre Office is installed, will it be automatically be updated when a new version comes out?
