Well, I have PeppermintOS installed on another SDHC card and when I went to writing Aids section of OpenOffice.org options I found out that in "available language modules" menu there were these Voikko-modules enabled: Finnish language spellchecker (Voikko), Finnish grammar checking (Voikko), Finnish language spellchecking (Voikko).

Why is it that I don't have those modules at all in my OpenOffice.org options in PCLinuxOS? Aarrggghh, maybe I should give up! This is just giving me bad headache. Thanks anyway all of your help so far, Travis. If you or somebody else have some new ideas concerning this issue I'm always ready to listen.

you might try searching the working peppermintOS install for a voikko .oxt file (openOffice plugin), then see if you can manually install it to your PCLOS install.

..I did this to try and force install of the one I built, but OpenOffice is refusing to install it because of some error.  This is why it does not show up in OOo...  perhaps the one from your other install can be installed onto PCLinuxOS ???

(as it is just an OOo plugin, it should not affect the rest of your install..)

All right, I copied that voikko.oxt file from my another distro 10.04 install (heh, I didn't have better things to do this morning so I decided to test that too.. ;D)
So how do I manually install that file to my PCLOS install?

In OOo writer...  Tools > Extensions > Add..

If that doesn't work the following manual method might:

???

..if neither of those work, I am out of ideas.  :-\

OpenOffice 3.2.1 released. I already have OpenOffice 3.2.0 installed. What's the proper way to get the update?

Run the script again? Wait for it to show in the repository?

Wait for the update to be in the repos. I believe that you'll find instructions in this thread on updating OOo. Check the first page.

SO, just to clarify (if only for myself, if no one else  :)), there's been a new getopenoffice in the repos, but is there a new OpenOffice to upgrade to?  (I have 3.2.0, currently).

Also, what is the correct response for the attached requester?

OK = Yes

Cancel = No

It appears to be a PCLOS special, many times mentioned, never changed.  A signature bug .... ;D

How about replace that bulleted options thing with something simpler like

"Do you really want to re-install the current version of Openoffice?" and then switch around the yes/no options.

And logically GOO should only install the current version in the repos just so that it gets on your system, while updating via synaptic will take care of any upgrades.

The change from OK/Cancel to Yes/No was introduced by a zenity upgrade. I will correct the message box (and 11 additional translations  ::)) at some point when I have the time for that minor thing. The new getopenoffice version was required to have GOO working for those having the new megagames repo enabled. The current OO-version (to be precise: http://go-oo.org/) still is 3.2.0 and a new getopenoffice version will be provided once Novell releases GO-OO 3.2.1.

@ZeroAngel: you can not update OO via Synaptic cause OO is in a separate repo which is not configured in Synaptic but auto-configured via GOO. GOO can be used to install, upgrade, and properly remove OO, as outlined in the OP.

regards,
-p.
