I fixed it by downloading the .rpm files from LibreOffice. Now I have LibreOffice 3.3.3 installed instead of 3.4.2.

Thanks anyway!  ;)
Running PCLinuxOS on my USB. PCLinuxOS went bang on me. I have X-u-b-u-n-t-u on my laptop for now. Will give PCLinuxOS a try in the feature.

Hey Pinoc!

Is it possible to have Libreoffice 3.3.3 installed instead of 3.4.2? 3.4.2 have a serious bug with footnots, that effects a lot of people and especially students/academic people. Libreoffice 3.3.3 is more secure for more advanced use. I would be glad if it would be possible to install 3.3.3.

Here you can read about the bug:
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39510

By the way Pinoc, PCLinuxOS have the best Libreoffice integration among the KDE distribution.  :)

Dang! I knew it, only a question of time until this would come up...  ::)
Don't really want to integrate two versions into lomanager, this will only create questions/confusion and potential problems. As a compromise I can setup a en_US LO-3.3.3 offline installer and add that for download in the original post, when I have some time for that, very very busy these days...

I can understand you, it takes time and can be confusing for users. I solved it by going to libreoffice homepage and I downloaded the files I needed. After unpacking the 3 files, it was easy to figure out how to install the package. So you don’t need for my sake to do all the work. Thanks for your kind reply and I can now understand why PCLinuxOS have so good Libreoffice integration because also mandriva has it. I only needed to delete all files in desktop integration folder. Only left mandriva packages in desktop integration folder and it was commandline time. The work was done.

Somebody most be the first one to tell. :)

Hi Kurdistan, I am going to bother you a little, but you know I don't want any harm to you. ;)

Would you mind going to browse the LibreOffice website look for the bug reports and if there is one about this issue add your feedback as a comment to a former one, and if there is none, create a new bug report ?

Thanks,
Mélodie

Kurdistan,
Your statement above (in red) is incorrect. We do have some Mandriva tools, modified to our use, but we are an independent distro. PCLinuxOS works well because we use what works, no matter where it is from - if it needs modification, we do that. In some cases, we write our own. You can find a list of PCLinuxOS specific software in our Knowledge Base.

We use packages from our own repositories to build every version of PCLinuxOS. Mandriva can disappear, and we will continue.

Actually, I believe PCLOS nowadays is more like Arch Linux than anything else. There are things that only PCLOS(and Arch, for that matter) has. It's very exciting to be a part of this community and to be an user and fan of PCLOS. I look forward for the day I will try to start packaging stuff and returning the packages to the community repos. What a thrill ride it will be(already is, btw)

Don't. Always provide the latest version. If someone wants a different version they can download it from Libreoffice website and manually install it per their installation instructions.

Thanks to everyone who donates. You keep the servers running.

https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=39510

It is a well known bug. All version of Libreoffice 3.4... have that problem. Maybe they will manage to fix the bug for 3.4.3 release.

Hey Neal!

Thanks for your answer. I have learned new things today.  :)

Hey Texstar!

Just thought I'd report an issue I had with  lomanager here.

After installing PCLOS 2011.6 and updating and adding Enlightenment and several other applications from Synaptic, I tried to install LibreOffice using lomanager.  It started OK, installed Java, but then when trying to download the base, it just hung up the computer (total freeze)...had to hard shut down the computer.

Tried several more times with the same result.  Logged into the E17 user...same thing.  Started lomanager from a terminal, and at about 44% download of the base, it hangs.

Downloaded and installed LibreOffice using the alternate offline method, and that worked just fine.  The computer has stayed on for long periods w/o any other freezing...only when trying to install LibreOffice using lomanager.

Pinoc, is it better for all users if lomanager sticks with 3.3XX series and go for 3.4XX series when it becomes stable? Becuase 3.4XX series are in my opinion RC and for users that wants to test the latest. It means also risk for more bugs.

Hi pinoc!

Yes have already read Texstars comment and yes I know the current version for lomanager in 32-bits. My concern was about the stability, but you are the boss. Have a nice day!
