Hello
Here's my problem. My notebook has 2 disks with several partitions and sometimes I also use an external USB disk, a Iomega ScreenPlay HD. In Konqueror - storage devices - I can see and access correctly every partitions included the USB disk.

I found the backup tool in the Control Center (drakbackup) and I'd want to use it to make a backup of my system. But, once started, when I try to specify the destination for the backup (..."browse" button) I don't see the same mounted devices as I do as normal user, in particular I don't see my Iomega ScreenPlay HD listed as I expect.
Mount points are completely different and Drakbackup (as root) doesn't allow me to specify the correct destination.

As normal user, in Konqueror, I see my USB disk called "Iomega Screen Play HD", with URL "system:/media/sdc1" in the address bar and mounted on "/media/ScreenPlay HD"

From within Drakbackup I don't see my "Storage devices" tree, anyway I see the USB disk listed with same name and I select it.
When I run the backup process I don't get the backup file(s) created on the USB disk, instead a file called "Iomega" is created on "/media/". Such folder contains this file and a Iomega ScreenPlay HD folder.

I can't realize is why this folder (/media) has a different content as root than normal user. Anyway, the main problem is that my backup file is created here, that is on my /dev/sdb5 instead of the USB disk.

What do I have to do to make Drakbackup saves on the external USB disk correctly?  ???

I know this reply is a bit late for you but it may help others:
I had the same problem with my FreeAgent usb hard drive.  The problem is due to the fact that drakbackup does not like spaces in the file path.  Preceding spaces with a forward slash will fix it like this: Iomega\ Screen\ Play\ HD
