~ PCLOS Magazine Submissions ~
« on: April 05, 2009, 10:44:03 AM »

The Magazine has an Editor
The jobs he assigns

The Magazine has an Artist
The cover he designs

The Magazine has Assistants
They're all up to speed

But what good's the Magazine
If there's nothin' there to read?

Without your submissions
The Magazine's an empty sheet

Without your submissions
The Magazine's incomplete

To all PCLOS users
We care about what you think

So send us some articles
We'll put them in cyber ink

Hi Everyone,
I have been appointed head of NWRSD* by the Editor in Chief of the PCLOS Magazine.
* New Writers/Reporters and Submission Department
Here is my job description:
  • All writers/reporters will answer to you
  • Hand out writing assignments
  • Determine if a submission is good and forward it to the Editor in Chief
  • Take submissions and evaluate them to see if they should be submitted

I wasn't given the standards for a good submission, so I made up my own criteria.

1.If I can understand the article/submission, it will be rejected.
2. If I can't understand the article/submission it will go right to the top.

This means that 99.99% of what is submitted has a 99.99% chance of getting into the magazine.

The magazine, for the past year, has had simpler, less restrictive submission guidelines than those in the previous post.

Please refer to the current submission guidelines.

We welcome any article topics that are relevant to general computing, internet trends and advances, general Linux, and (naturally) PCLinuxOS-specific.

Do not worry if you feel as if you are "not much of a writer." The magazine staff, along with me (the Chief Editor), will help with polishing your article prior to its publication. If you can put two coherent thoughts together (and I know everyone here can, or they wouldn't be here), then you have the ability to write articles for The NEW PCLinuxOS Magazine. I only ask that the articles you submit are your own work (that is, your own original creations), and not plagiarized.

If you have ANY questions (e.g., "Is this a topic the magazine would be interested in?", "I have this idea for an article, but I'm unsure of how to proceed."), please feel free to contact me at pclinuxos dot mag at gmail dot com.

Thanks!

I see you've decided on your magazine article topic, menotu.  ;D ;D

Now prepare an outline or diagram of your ideas.
Write your thesis statement and start working on the body (of the essay).
Write the main points and subpoints.
Write an intro and conclusion.

Submit it using the new guidelines and voila. I am sure the editor-in-chief will accept it.  8)   ::)

I have added a PDF version of The PCLinuxOS Magazine Submission Guide & Style Manual, for those who are interested in writing articles for the magazine.
