Nor do their remasters recognize my screen resolution, after driver and resolution have been set in the HD installation .
I know of 1 (ONE) PCLOS distrubution that is capable only of preserving the chosen resolution in a remaster AFTER the install, namely the pclinuxos-kde-minime-2012.08 .
In fact this is a plea towards the makers of PCLinuxOS, the system I would prefer using, to find a solution for this problem .
Why can't they achieve what does not seem to be hard for Linux Mint ISOs or other Ubuntu clones ?
KNOPPIX_V7.0.4 LiveCD gave me full resolution, even the humble Puppy makes me happy with the 1920x1080 resolution that goes with my screen !
So why is PCLOS failing here ?

There is a software called PCLinuxOS Fix Screen which was still languishing in the testing section unfortunately. May be that might help in this case.
Packaging well will cure headaches of many :) But learning to package will cause headaches in many :(

Met this issue also on ROSA Linux  (have only the nouveau driver on their LiveCD).
Looks like a DrakX (XFdrake) issue.
The xorg.conf file is generated by DrakX (XFdrake).

I did never met this issue on my system and did get always the correct resolution.
