i don't get to the point were i could choose the language... but it would be portuguese.

looks like there is a problem with my pass (valid until 08.2013). i had nothing to update there...
but i did an update trough nluug and now addlocale works fine...

can you try this: update from nluug, run addlocale, after that switch back to pass.
Then, reload Synaptic, and look what is obsolete, these should be the packages which are on nluug but not on PASS, then we know what needs to be fixed on PASS.

? I don't understand what you mean. Can you please answer these two questions:

1) Did you use the nluug repo, fully updated your system, then run addlocale, change to Portuguese, and that worked? If so then we know that addlocale works, it should.

2) after you have localised your system to Portuguese, go back into Synaptic and change the repo to PASS. Then click Reload and then look for "Installed (local or obsolete)" and if you see something there which should not be obsolete then this package was fetched from nluug but is missing in PASS. Once we know that then we can put the missing package on PASS as well.

1) updated from nluug and addlocale worked.

2) i did as you say. but not sure what to do as to find out what is or not obsolet.

everything listed in installed (local or obsolet) states that all the installed versions are the same as the latest versions...

if i have pass enabled in synaptic, addlocale will give me the same error as shown

fully pass updated kde 4.9.5...

after adding xfce4 to the sections line of pass(it is not there by default) , addlocale works as it should...

If you have a PASS account you have edit the section line (in synaptic): kde4 -> kde  and add xfce4 by your self.

reprocessed the entire repo for updated translations (including the latest KDE 4.10.1) and uploaded translation archives to the server from where they will be picked up by addlocale.
If you have already localised your system then there is no need to rerun addlocale. New localisations will use the latest translations now available.

Hi there! Got a little problem with the localization, maybe you got some ideas  : I got a fresh installation of PCLOS 2013 with all updates and KDE 4.10.1, and after running addlocale, KDE refuses to use the new localization, it says in an information message "You have the language with code 'de' in your list of languages to use for translation but the localization files for it could not be found. The language has been removed from your configuration. If you want to add it again please install the localization files for it and add the language again.".
Only KDE is affected, the rest (PCC, scripting, even the welcome message while booting when you turn off plymounth) is in local language [=German]. I also booted a live CD with KDE 4.9.5 and run the addlocale, but with the same result: the script is finished all right, but on log on there's the same message again.

I checked synaptic, locales and locales-de are both installed. What does KDE want me to do? Which files must be placed where?

So now I ended up with a mixture of German and English - most anoying, I would like to fix it asap! Any ideas anyone?

It seems the German language pack for KDE isn't installed or something went wrong during installation.

Install the package kde4-l10n-de from Synaptic and see if it helps.

Finally figured out why the localisation crashes since the new 4.10.1 is out, our old friend digikam...
Now fixed and recompiled to 3.1.0-2, once that is in the repo you can localise again, obviously this ony concerned systems where digikam was installed.
Anyway, working now with the updated digikam package.
