Hi,

I am using Addlocale 4.0 and it has started the web browser. So I take the opportunity to come in order to post a feature request.

pinoc, when you will have time to think about it, is it possible you fancy any system to first get Addlocale to download and installed his own locale in the desired language, then once done restart itself in the user's language before continuing to proceed ?

And while I am here, I want to say I love the warnings in red, the invitation to go fetch stuff to eat and drink the way you have set it and the browser started while proceeding ! :D

Regards,
Mélodie

Hi, Change mirror in Synaptic, reload Synaptic, check if there are any updates, if there are do the update and apply. Once done, retry. Which mirror are you using at the moment ?

Addlocale now starts the browser on the first post of the Addlocale thread, where pinoc has explained all that we need to know. :)

I tested three mirrors and the same thing, I do not think that is the problem of mirrors. With the above KDE distribution had no problems, now with the new I can not change the language.

Hi,
I have published and made available a Kde Minime Fr 2011. Obviously Addlocale worked for me. You could try to remove all temporary files issued from Addlocale, then start addlocale from a root console and bring back the output.

In the mirrors is not yet the addlocale new version. The problem is the addlocale that is in the mirrors, if you first apply the addlocale that is on the livecd and then update, all is ok.

yes, I know. The new 4.0-3 will be uploaded by Tex as soon as he has some time to do it, then it will first appear on ibiblio and shortly after on the other mirrors. Please be patient and check the repo for updates, should be out any day.

Hi Adam,

I just ran addlocale 4.0-3 on an updated English KDE system and added Polish using the same repo as you. All this went without any problems. From the output you posted it seems there is something wrong with your Synaptic setup because you should not get the message warning: cleaning stale lock. Please follow these steps, and then properly update your system before running addlocale. I did that and it does work. Is this a KDE install or another DE?

Hi pinoc,

Could you say what is this process, in non KDE DE ?

Quote
$ ps ax | grep addlocale

14333 pts/0    R      0:00 /bin/bash -l /usr/bin/addlocale
