Hi,

I want to bring your attention to one little annoyance. The time that runs after the second window "be patient... :-) this window will autoclose in 40 seconds" and the next step to wait for is veeery long. I have been seeing my next tester : my companion, just reboot after this stage, thinking it was already all done. I told him : no, you need the program to do all by himself". So he restarted Addlocale and redid the process that worked well.

Yesterday, I localised a future bonsai about to come out, and I felt the same : too long !

So I would like to ask for a new windows that says something such as "now you can go make a coffee, go to the bakery get a piece of cake, start having coffee and cake, and when you come back you will be prompted for your keyboard and timezone before Addlocale reboots automatically your system to finish the process".

This way, we won't feel like something is missing. :D

Would you agree doing that ?
Regards,
Mélodie

Just coded one full day to get this damned progress-bar working in lomanager, so now I can port that part into addlocale and you can have a cup of coffee AND watch addlocale progressing...  ;)

Wow - the answer (and solution) is already in the works before I had a chance to read melodie's complete post!

if you have updated to 3.8-10 then you must run this version from a terminal using:
Code: [Select]
addlocale --no-vtest.
If possible, wait for addlocale 4.0 to be out within the next days. This will be a major update to addlocale  ;)

Fully updated and now for:

addlocale 4.0
Please update addlocale to the latest version
and then run Localization Manager again.

Exiting...

Do I have to wait for version 4.01 ?? or do:

addlocale --no-vtest

The 3.8-10 rpm was a testing version of the new addlocale 4.0 (as you can see from the error message) which got uploaded due to a misunderstanding. If exist, delete the file /tmp/xsu*   Then run it with
Code: [Select]
addlocale --no-vtestJust arrived at my holiday place but hope to finalize 4.0 nevertheless in the coming days once I find an hour or two.
Now off to the beach...  ;D

When I reinstalled PCLinuxOS I can not use addlocale, even with the command line:

Code: [Select]
addlocale --no-vtest
I have from synaptic installed:
locales-sv
aspell-sv
firefox-se_SV (Firefox works)
gimp-help-sv (works) But GIMP is other then gimp-help-sv in english.
kde4-10n-sv (Kickstart menu works, Dolphin, Kmix, Kscd, Amarok (not working in swedish), Kcalc, Okular, KTorrent (not working in swedish), Konqueror, Knetattach, kppp, Gwenview, Kwrite, Informationcenter, Ark, K3b (not working in swedish), Nepomuk, KDE Partition Mananger (not working in swedish), Configure your desktop, KMyMoney (not working in swedish), System monitor, Choqok (not working in swedish), Digikam (not working in swedish) and Konsole.). Some KDE related stuff works other not.
PCC (drake) and other system specific stuff does not work in swedish and VLC also.

Running PCLinuxOS on my USB. PCLinuxOS went bang on me. I have X-u-b-u-n-t-u on my laptop for now. Will give PCLinuxOS a try in the feature.

yes, I know. I must first fix lomanager then after that addlocale but I'm in holidays right now, so very little time for coding. Maybe next Sunday you will get addlocale 4.0.
