<solved> GIMP cage transform freezing

Has anybody used the GIMP cage transform.  It freezes GIMP under KDE 64.  Web searches show reported problems dating from as early as 2012.  GIMP 2.8.16

Yes Gimp Cage does freeze gimp here also in KDE 64

thanx for pointing it out, yes mine froze as well the pie progress circle almost finishes then locks up and have to use ctrl-alt-esc to kill the window

Confirm - haven't used it lately; mostly using perspective transformation to straighten out screen dumps and pictures of equipment taken from inconvenient angles.

That particular bug crept in I think last November, with Gimp 2.8.16-1 (I have a 2.8.16-0 in a linux chromebook that works)

Not just PCLOS, Debian distros as well.
The bug has been reported and tacked on to the end of all the other Cage Transform 'freezing' bugs. see: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=678085#c22

When will it be fixed? Do not hold your breath. Only just been fixed in this weeks 2.9.3 development version release. Probably need to wait for Gimp 2.8.18

Not a very good tool anyway, usually there is an alternative but as with everything, depends what you want to do.

Yes I was trying to use it to straighten out a shot made at a bad angle.  I found another installed tool to do it, although I think for my problem, the interface method of the GIMP would have been better.  But it didn't work so I found another way.
