PCLinuxOS has finally given me the type of gaming performance that I was looking for in Wine. I must have went through 15-20 different distros, all shapes and sizes. I'm new to linux, so I'm sure my struggle can be partially attributed to me not being able to competently configure my environment.
Nonetheless, with the PCLinuxOS distro, I didn't have to. I was a little skeptical about it at first. When I see a large distro, to me, that usually means there is more that can go wrong

This wasn't the case though. The OS installer was very easy to use, and after updating my packages, it has been very stable. What is going to keep me using this build, however, is how it handles 3D. My Wine framerate must have tripled. I set up PlayOnLinux with DX10, .net framework, msvc runtime, physx, and its running just as well as native Windows. I installed these same DLL's in other distributions
Not sure what it is exactly. Perhaps the way X desktop does it's drawing/rendering, or the way the way the kernel handle the Nvidia drivers, but in any case, I am one happy puppy.
Thanks PCLOS!
