New Zealand, the land of Lord of the Rings, wine, sheep, canyons, cheese, glaciers, bulls, skiing, Maori culture, birds, hot springs, boiling mud pools and wild nature. But what makes this country truly exceptional is its people. We've been there 4 times and I'm sure we will return [perhaps already this year] ;D I made a short clip of whale watching [sperm whales] and Kaikoura surroundings [2011].
[Kaikoura is a mecca for marine mammals. Nowhere in the world are sperm whales so accessible due to the fact that the peninsular provides a meeting place for the strong ocean currents that converge in deep water canyons enabling the rich marine ecosystem to thrive and form the ideal feeding ground for the whales, dolphins and seabirds]

I went to Milford Sound and Kaikoura on my travels, both good. Having a look on street view at the places I visited.

On a slightly different note there seems to be a substantial increase in the number of "down under" people on the site and postings about "down under". Is there a take over underway?
