How to set Chrome as default browser?

I want to set Chrome as my default brower and i do each time i open it it asks i say yes after the 20th time i git tired of it asking or when i click on a link it falls to firefox.

I looked around and i found this

Exact same steps we both took and still no win....

Good question. The link you quoted wasn't too clear, I agree.
This is what I tried. I'll test it later.  ;D

First I followed Texstar's suggestion from the above thread;
"If you are using the KDE desktop it is set in the configure your desktop -> Workspace Appearance -> Default Applications."
In the foreground is the Configure your desktop -> Workspace Appearance -> Default Applications window.
I got the command from KMenu editor-- see background window --
Give that a try. I will too.
p.s. You are using google-chrome-stable, rt?

yes i am stable, i did go\ and set it as the default web browser as you showed in the screen shot and it stays default until i reboot my system :/

Well, the reboot was a bit extreme... ;) A logout/login would have been sufficient...

For me it looks like it fails to save the config in file. I have no idea why this happens but maybe you can try to chmod +rw -R ~/.kde4 (it will take some time to complete).

Also, don't forget about /usr/bin/www-browser later.

Worked fine for me.
Return to Desktop Config > Default Applications > Web Browser
What's listed as the default application?
