Dropbox update?? [SOLVED]

I'm trying to run dropbox and it says there is  a new version i click okay and a dropbox installation bar shows up and it has been stuck on 2% the last 30min and in synaptic it does not show an update or a new version of dropbox.. any ideas??

I can't replicate the problem.

You have given no details. No system specs, no update details, no desktop environment details, no install details, nothing for anyone to go on. You didn't even say for sure that you were running PCLinuxOS.

There are rules for requesting help, some of them must be followed. No one here can help you if you are running Ubuntu.  ;)

If you mean the message that reads "You are running Dropbox from an unsupported location" that appears on first run, you can safely ignore it and click "Don't Ask Again".
Dropbox will run fine next time and you can configure it without any issues.

No, i'm not using ubuntu i switched over from it although i do miss the the eye candy which i had mentioned in the previous post you were a part of, i am running pclinuxos kde 2013, if you look at my signature my system specs are there, but to clarify for you


Dell XPS gen 5
Pentium 4 single core 3.20ghz
6gigs DDR2 Ram
Nvidia GeForce 6400 GS
Main Drive is 750gigs
Secondary Drive is 1TB

The update notification appears when i click on the dropbox off of my menu to be able to open it and put in my account info, it says please update i click okay, then it shows a progress bar

What version of Dropbox are you using?
Is there a button that reads "Don't Ask Again" in that notification?

I ended up removing  it completely from synaptic and re-installing it after i rebooted and it's working now
