(Solved) Screeen not covering entire display
« on: March 11, 2013, 10:25:30 AM »
I have a computer with a monitor and tv hooked up to it. I am trying the new KDE iso and while the screen on the monitor is fine, the tv screen will not cover the entire screen with the display. Is there a way to fix this?

P.S. the 2.2012 iso works fine.

Just a guess, can you change the resolution on the output port of your video card to the TV?

Maybe tell us what video card you have and the TV and monitor types.

I found the problem. The tv menu-settings-screen-display area. when the OS loads to the desktop it forces the display area into full pixel rather full, normal or -1.

Sorry if I gave the impression that it is solved. I was saying that when the OS goes to the desktop it forces the tv to use full pixel. When I try to change it, I cannot as it only allows me to select full pixel rather than having the option to select the other two as well.

I have found out that the problem is related to the ATI graphics driver being used. How do I fix this? what driver could I use instead?

P.S. Installed glrx ATI driver in mint which is how I found the problem. I don't know if the fglrx driver will affect it.

Found the solution. It was an ATI setting. Simple really once you figure it out. PCLinuxOS has the best and easiest PC configuration that I have seen.  :) :)
