I know what you mean. I spent many months off and on researching these little amps. It was hard to make a final decision.

4 ohms too I see, very efficient, dynamic and so forth.   Deep sound
and very pleasing I bet.    Balanced with the amp quite well.

"I wasn't aware that you live in Bogota. Can you buy from Amazon there?"

theoretically, yes

the problem arises form the method i end up using

i can get a po box on usa and then redeliver the package from there to colombia and then to my house, this step seems to add a extra 24-48 hours

the problem is the cost of the redelivery step, also that if the amplifier decides not to work, i won't be able to send it to get a new one so i won't have a viable warranty over the unit, that is why i mention the price as one of the main factors to determine a possible purchase

last year i was going to get a amplifier practically identical to this one

http://www.techman-usa.com/display.php?eC_type=DISPLAY&psid=AMP-150M&lang=en

but costs $90 here, so for a cheap home project is a big no no, a lepai and 20 sounds ideal if it comes with the power supply, so many things to consider, specially when you don't know what you are doing, as in my case  :-[   ;D

Yeah, the speakers just happen to be 4 ohm. I would definitely recommend 4 ohm speakers over 8 ohm.

Here's another video with better sound.

in your setup, you have the amplifier fixed in one position

this smaller lepai amplifiers, seems to be meant to be installed on something, on the speaker maybe?

with such amplifier that requires a external power source, this makes things a bit more complicated i think

These amps are very light, less than one pound. If they are not fastened down, they move very easily.

Most of them including the  Lepai LP-2020a+ have a flange on either side with two holes for screws. My boombox amp does not have these flanges. It has four rubber feet so I had to find a way to clamp it down.
From my OP:

The "handle" is a battery hold down that I just bought today at Fleet Farm $5.75 w/tax. I needed something to hold the amp down tightly and this fit the bill for that and doubles as a handle.

This is the exact type I used:

I had to supply my own long screws.
