2013.02 KDE - NVidia FX5200 Video Card - NEW xorg.config Version ?

I tried for a couple of days to get the NVidia drivers to work with 2013.02 - no luck.

Could only get it to work with Vesa. 

Xorg.config setup can't find [nvidia.so] among other problems, so reloaded / updated 2012.12 and it is working ok.

Don't ask for specifics as i didn't have a steno taking notes as to what i tried.

Will chalk it up to "Outdated Hardware" and look at bottoms of posts to try to see what NEWER Video cards are being used by other PCL users.

If you tried regularly your updates, you don't need to install a newer Version, because you have the latest Version installed.

But, we thank you for reporting this issues.

The 2013.02 ISOs shipped with nvidia173-14.36-1 which is broken (fails to load module nvidia.so).
This package has been removed from the repo.
Depending on whether you are using PASS or the public mirrors you will have either:
nvidia173-14.36-2 or
nvidia173-14.31.1
available for installation.  Either of these will work with FX series cards.
If using public mirrors you will need to remove the nvidia173 packages and then you will see  nvidia173-14.31.1 available for installation.
(Hopefully 173.14.36-2 will make it to the public mirrors soon  )

Daniel, i do use the running updates regularly but was trying to clean some unused "stuff" from my system.

TerryN, sounds like maybe if i do need to reinstall new, maybe it will work.

If you reinstall you will end up with the (broken) nvidia173-14.36-1
