WiFi Network error
« on: March 09, 2013, 06:57:04 AM »
Help needed, how to completely reinstall wireless in pclinuxos 64bit?

Yesterday i was surfing, my router rebooted and I lost all settings in router, my ISP reset it up, wifi is there ON now but i canont conect to it, I can with my Android mobile phone, Pclos sees my network but for some reason cannot connect to it. WeP2 encryption. It connects to it only if i set it up to open network. Need some command to delete all settings in PCLos regarding Wirelles blank and then set it up again from start.

Interesting, when I boot up with pclos usb live install everything works OK.

It seems something whent wrong in WiFi settings. Help

welcome aboard!

in pcc, network and internet, remove a connection, delete your wi-fi connection
and "setup a new network interface" .

Need some command to purge everything regarding wirelless from root terminal, and install it again...

No help yet? It seems I must wait for Official Pclos 64bit version to update the operating system, maybe then things will work ok. :-)

Yes, and now I have it also, on my Android phone and on PCLINUXOS live install on USB, on other live installs from other distributions, everywhere except on my default install on hard drive, how is this possible?

Maybe a stupid answer but did you check the wpa/wpa2 password?
A typo is easy made.
Also the wpa2 mode?

everything looks ok, in router i have selected wpa + wpa2 mode, in configurator wpa/wpa2 pre-shared key, operating mode is managed, i have also tryed automatic, on Extra directives somehow allways is written priority=1#auth_alg=OPEN, when i delete that open and keep only priority=1, next time is written open again, don't know if this is wrong, connection protocol is Automatic, get dns servers from DHCP is checked, get YP servers from DHCP is checked, connection control all is checked, Metric 35, network hotplugging is checked,... maybe somehow wpa2 protocol itself got deleted in my PCLOS

Nikola

I can try to reset router, but as I said, on live PCLOS install on usb everything works ok

router itself is set to channel 7, maybe before was on different channel

        libpcsclite.so.1 is needed by wpa_supplicant-0.7.3-1pclos2011.i586

I have PCLinuxOs 64bit RC1
