Info on Microsoft Win XP disk.

O.K. forgetting the Laptop; "Vista", and concerning 'The WinXP' Disk that you have in your possession.

Is the Disk a Bought Disk, i.e. you paid at a retailer for the Disk, and not a COPY which was made off a Retail WinXP Disk ?

Bit sticky I know, but straightforward.  :D

Point being if you bought the XP Disk, you have every right to ring Microsoft and ask for a Product Key Code.
For example I had a Disc (WinXP service pack 2) which was not installed on any Computer. It had been sitting around and I'd lost the 'Key Code' so was up the creek.
Was a simple matter of ringing MS, quoting a code on purchased Disk, and:

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Customer Service.

Based from the receipt and copy of CD that you have sent, I have generated a new Product Key for Product Name which you can now use for installation/activation. Please refer below:

You'll have to figure if you have a Retail Disk of Windows XP, or an Illegally burnt one. ;)

Personally Linux is a lot simpler as it's just a herd of nerds giving away fantastic Operating Systems. ;D
All the best. One step at a time.

Unfortunately, what you paid for was probably only a "license" to use the software. Not necessarily the software its self.  ;)

??? ???  Your question makes no sense, "how to get xp out of my vb".

To get an OS "out" of VB just delete it. But there is no reason, you can easily leave it and create a new one, that is it's purpose.  ;)

It sounds like your problem has more to do with "eBay's Turbo Lister" than with getting XP to run in VB.

Getting XP to run in VB is easy as long as you have a copy of XP.  (You can't expect an operating system to install if you don't have a copy of the installation disk)

Your REAL problem is getting "Turbo Lister" to work with Linux.

From some simple research that I did it might be difficult to say the least.

Get your hands on an install disk of XP and call us in the morning. *joke*  ;D ;D

Devra, you too can be a Nerd. :D

Either open a text document; or get an excercise book, like we used at school, as kids.

Write 1.)   ...  I suggest using an excercise book cos there may be some scribbling and page ripping, however; meditate on that 1.)

Now, just by being around I note you have another couple of threads running, so turn the page, and write, 1.) again on another page.

And another till you have a bunch of pages with 1.) on the Top of them.

Give the 1.)'s a Title, like; "is there a way to empty the hd completely," ? will do for starters, and write the most important factors about this Thread, and the problems you have, in 'point form'.

After time, some semblance of the key factors will appear, plus relevant info will gather.

You can then refer to each individual factor, + project, and have no confusion, adding the points posted in each thread that you find important, helpful, and so on. Sounds like a lot of work but hopefully you'll find you're aware what's going on, you just had to clear away some debris to see a clear path.

These Computers can be a real pain at times, but they are just Logic machines, they do what we tell them. You have some tricky stuff going on is why I've considered writing this. What you want to happen can get all confused, and more tricky when rushing, trying to just get it over and done with, ...

After awhile things will fall into place, no worries.
I'm not saying this is a quicker way to do what your doing, but it will be clearer.
That's the way I have to go about things anyway. ( I may have incurred some 'Brain Damage' in the latter part of the 1960's, ... dunno  ;) )

Goodluck,  :D
