It looks like Epson is now supplying Scanner Drivers for linux

Same old crap as always. No scanner driver for all in one unit, print driver only, newest related system covered Mandriva 2006. Just a tad old to be getting exited about.  :P :P :P :P

I wouldn't hold my breath. It appears that Epson is firmly entrenched in the TWAIN camp, and couldn't give two squats about making their scanners SANE compliant.

All I know is that my Epson WF-3540 All-In-One works - all functions including the scanner

My Epson Stylus CX-8400 AIO works too. Printer and scanner.
