SOLVED ~ PClinuxOS won't see VoyagerLive CD

Yes, as a newbie, I was loath to bother you experts, but my brain hurts from trying to work this out.  I used PClinuxOS for a while from the disk, then downloaded it using all the space on a new empty HD.  I can find anything in windows but the simpliest things seem to be hidden from me on Linux...so I was going to look at a few other versions...but I put the disk for Voyager in the drive and when I reboot, it still goes to pclinux and doesn't seem to know there's a bootable disk in the drive...
I have other issues...such as how to download and use turbo lister from ebay, how to download and use online casino apps...

but this first...

Do you mean by this that you booted a CD or DVD with PCLOS on it and ran the OS from that?

When you say you downloaded it to a HDD ......  do you mean to say that you installed it to HDD using the PCLOS installer?

Is that an internal HDD or a USB flash stick?

I think you need to clarify what you did for us, so that we know what you are working with.

sigh.....if I clarify what I did, I'll have to admit to being even stupider than you initially thought....I thought I had the damn cd in the drive, but didn't, it was as simple as putting it in....

and yes, I had installed PClinuxOS on my empty HDD, now I'm looking at another distro, and don't like that much either.  I'm trying to burn VoyagerLive on a cd, but am having issues...(yes I know I said I was trying to run Voyager, but it was another distro I'd burned and was trying to run)...

Right now I'd just like someone to tell me which Linux OS works most like windows...so I can run simple things like online casinos and turbolister...otherwise I might as well find a version of Windows to download.

No Linux works like Windows.
Some, like PCLinuxOS KDE desktop will have a familiar look and feel when using it, but underneath it is not Windows.

It takes some little effort and willingness to learn to switch to Linux.

If you are rushed or impatient you will likely give up in frustration.

So my advice is ...  if you can take it slowly and have a willingness to learn new things then it will work well for you.
If not you might be best served with Windows.

All I can say about that is ......  it is well worth the effort

I do like some aspects of it, but it's frustrating not to know how to download and run something I've done a million times on windows.  My business is ebay and I need to use turbo lister....

any idea which distro with work for me?  I'm not willing to give up, I just hate feeling stupid.

Turbolister is a Windows only program. I don't know what online casinos software you need. FYI, Windows programs do not run native on a Linux operating system.
