Even on my windows7-tower, I have FireFox deleting all cookies/cache when it shuts down.  So when I have to log into my bank account... I have to give it a security question-answer, on top of the login number and password.  Big deal.

A small inconvenience for some security.
I use Opera for banking and booking campsites only. I have the security set high so that I have to answer a security question every time I log into my banking account.  No other websites get loaded on Opera.  I use Chromium for Facebook only and Firefox for everything else.  It helps prevent tracking cookies from getting into my banking and Facebook stuff.  On Firefox and Chromium I have the AdBlock Plus and DoNotTrackMe add-ons installed.  With AdBlock Plus I do allow non-intrusive ads.  This setup works well for me.

Turn off your computer and do something useful.

I use "do not track me" with firefox too. I can only assume it's doing what it's supposed to but I feel better with it because the first
tracker it blocks is google.

I added the "do not track me" extension to Google Chrome last week and was shocked to see 10,500+ requests blocked in such a short time.

Thanks to everyone who donates. You keep the servers running.

I amazed at the response to my query on cookies. Thank you for all your replies. Ypu have prompted me into updating my security. Some very sensible suggestions.
