Cookies?

Just cleared all cookies from Firefox. Have reset Firefox to clear all cookies when Firefox is closed. What is your opinion on cookies and how to deal with the ever increasing number on every site?

I have cookies cleared when I close Firefox.
I don't accept third party cookies.
Periodically when I am online I click the "clear recent history."
Overkill, maybe, but it gives me some peace of mind.

I do exactly the same. I haven't had any problems, and yeah, it does give you a sense of being just a little more safe.

Some welcome news is that the Firefox 22 Cookie Policy will block all third-party cookies by default. FF 22 is scheduled for release on 24-Jun-2013

Speaking about cookies...
In Windows I know how to manage cleaning the system from coockies, temporal archives...
There are different preograms to do this like CCleaner.
My question is: How to clean Linux?
And, is there an app like CCleaner for Linux?

And it comes out-of-the-box. I saw it but didn't know its use... :)
In Windows I (almost) never use CCleaner as I have a better way to clean the system.
In Linux don't know how to do it. So, bleachbit is ok.

I've used bleachbit a few times, but I rarely bother to clean my system because with Linux, there just isn't much to clean.
A few temporary files and maybe some left over dependencies from something you uninstalled, neither of which pose any
kind of problem.  I do clear recent history in Firefox pretty regularly though.  ;)

On the Windows computer at work I installed SpywareBlaster which puts a big list of known bad cookies to be blocked by Internet Explorer and Firefox.  The program itself does not run in the background but it is very effective.  If I knew programming I would attempt to write a similar program for Linux to be used for Firefox, Chromium, Opera and a few other browsers.  Too bad I am not smart enough to do that.

Yup I do the same, have FF set up to never remember anything and clear everything every time it's closed.

Even on my windows7-tower, I have FireFox deleting all cookies/cache when it shuts down.  So when I have to log into my bank account... I have to give it a security question-answer, on top of the login number and password.  Big deal.

A small inconvenience for some security.

+ I only accept cookies on a site by site basis
I only allow J$ when it's needed, on a site by site basis (luv that NoScript)
Run "Better Privacy" when ever I leave a video site (YouTube, etc.)
Have the "Shockwave Flash" plugin disabled when not needed
