that looks like meccano.  we could bring that back too.  marvellous kit with which one could make so many things.

I had a couple of Meccano sets.  I loved tinkering with that.  Another thing we had as kids was Easylock bricks (same concept as LEGO.)  I wish we had kept those since it gave us hours of fun and our imaginations were the limit.
