OpenGL - screenservers
« on: February 25, 2013, 12:07:32 PM »
Dear All,

I have installed 64 bits version  - KDE4.

On my machine, 3D acceleration is on with NVIDIA driver on my GTX460 card.
For example, i can play Foobillard without problem.

But, i can't use OpenGL screensaver on my session.

Has anyone an idea why no OpenGL secreensaver will run or run when press "test" in "Configure my buro" ?

Very thanks for your answer

Best regards

There are several posts on this subject.

It seems that the developers are either unable or unwilling to get the OpenGL screensavers to work in PCLinuxOS.

Dear all,

Thanks for your replies.
It seems : it is better to wait a moment. All can't be perfect immediately.

It's a great work to bring a 64 bits version.
If all work on 32 bit, i think all will work on 64 bits in a few month.

Very thanks to all

Seems some applications needs mesa OpenGL libraries.

Most applications which using OpenGL using the OpenGl libraries from the AMD/ATI or Nvidia Drivers.

I'm using 32bit and the screensavers don't work here. Yes, I can use xscreensavers but it messes up power saving.
