TVtime lost sound <solved>
« on: February 23, 2013, 11:00:46 PM »
Up until yesterday tvtime worked just fine.  Suddenly yesterday after I played a youtube video tvtime lost sound. I know my sound card works since I get sound from other applications.  Thinking that perhaps my tvtuner card quit, I booted into a previous version of PCLOS that I have on my harddrive and found that it works just fine there.

My install is fully updated.  Has there been any recent changes that could cause this?

Please let me know.

Just a W.A.G. here ...

But could you have inadvertently muted the audio? Or is the audio turned up in TV Time (left and right arrow keys)? Sorry ... I don't mean to bring up the "easy" stuff, but sometimes the easy stuff is the most overlooked.

have you checked audio levels in kmix?

also, do you still have sound in youtube?

could be a hdmi sound issue caused by flash plugin, couple posts talking about it

Have a look at your Synaptic history to see what packages got updated that might be related to media.
It might give a clue to what caused it.

I always check mute first since that can be a culprit.  But I didn't know about the left and right arrow keys.  ???  And that is what it turned out to be. Now I have sound back, couldn't have been simpler.  It's the simple things that really get you.

Thanks I still have a lot to learn.
