Greetings from sunny Dorset
« on: March 01, 2013, 04:03:35 PM »
I'm kidding, of course - well, about the sunny part, it's ***** cold at the moment  :( . However, the greetings are genuine and are from a 'senior' new member (or just plain old) with b80 coming a little later this year. Many thanks to the developers and packagers of the 64bit RC version which is working fine for me.
Regards to you all,
arthurT

Yes, the topic made me wonder how any part of the British Isles could be described as "sunny" if you didn't add something like "two days last September". Nevertheless, and even if you are my senior by a decade, you are most welcome here. (And the climate where I live is even worse than yours.)

We seem to be getting your weather, BB at present, as the wind's been set in the North East for the last couple of weeks and is likely to stay that way for the next week too.

Welcome to you, arthurT, from a young man (mid fifties) in Bristol.

arthurT,

A warm welcome to you, from New Zealand - where it is currently very dry and hot at present.

You have arrived at the right place here in this forum.

Welcome from Germany, arthurT!

Yeah, the first sun rays of the year are cutting through the clouds. Can you imagine it's been the cloudiest (darkest/dullest/most depressing) first 2 months of the year since 1953??? Sheesh!

Nonetheless, good to have you with us! It's a wonderful distro with a fantastic community behind it, so I'm sure you'll enjoy all PCLOS has to offer  :D

arthurT,

Welcome from sunny Mexico!  Wish you were here.  It's almost 80 F and nice and dry.  A beautiful pre-Spring.

Glad to have you aboard and again - Welcome!

Have a great evening!  :)

Thank you all for your kind and friendly greetings. I confess I'm not a 'one distro' person - I've got about a dozen different ones on this Linux computer, mostly just to play with  :D The only ones I use (more or less) seriously are openSUSE and, of course, PCLinux OS. I've used and (mostly) enjoyed these two right from the beginning of my introduction to Linux, seven or eight years ago now AFAIR. I come from, not Windows or Mac, but RISC OS which I still use for most things (but definitely not browsing).

I shall be changing over to 64 bit PCLOS as soon as it's released, I almost could now - there's just one minor python library package missing which I need and I'll mention it on the 64 bit thread soon.

Thanks again to all of you, users and developers.

arthurT

BTW It *was* 'Sunny Dorset' yesterday, but back to the cold & grey today!

Hello, and welcome from Germany, arthurT!

Jump in the warm sector, and you can only win  ;D
Helpful hands, crazy users, and many more find you here.
One think...
By any issues, don't forget to tell us, what DE you are using, this is much simpler, and faster for us, to help   :)
DE=Desktop Environment
And maybe the arch type 32, or 64 bit.
