application launcher menu - display format
« on: February 22, 2013, 07:35:33 AM »
Hi,
I have the application launcher menu as my main menu for starting programs.
It used to open up in a very graphic format, and now it just shows a simple menu.
Sorry, I am not really sure how to describe this... but does anyone know how to
change the menu display format? In the settings I don't see any mention of such
a choice.

Thanks,
Shimon

I assume you are using KDE...

Right click on the Application Launcher icon (The "PC" icon).
Select "Switch to Application Launcher Style"

Is this what you mean?
For the whole world, you are someone.
For someone, you are the whole world.

KDE full Monty

The icon shows a K-gear, and mouseover pops up "Application Launcher Menu".
Right click has three options:
Edit Applications
Application Launcher Menu Settings
Unlock Widgets

That's all.

use fm_setwidgets to unlock, then the steps outlined by agmg, then fm_setwidgets again to lock your desktop layout.

I have already read all the things you are trying to modify in FM, so in case your desktop layout got corrupted you can also use fm_setwidgets to restore the FM-layout.
