Automounting medias
« on: March 11, 2013, 11:44:43 AM »
Hi,

I run Openbox with PCLinuxOS and I would like to mount automatically media after plugin on my pc (usb, cd/dvd for exemple).

I did it in another distribution with thunar --daemon command in the autostart file but this package is not available in synaptic.

Is another solution possible or this package is needed ?

Regards

What DE are you running?

If it's KDE you can, for instance,  set up removable media to automount in Device Notifier.

Hi Desmoric,

you can use usbmanager...

Code: [Select]
USBManager is a simple and intuitive tool developed to help people who
have hard times managing theirs USB storage devices.

Some of the USBManager features:
* Notifications to keep the user informed.
* Helps the user to change it's device labels. Currently support
  FAT16, FAT32, NTFS, EXT2, EXT3 and EXT4.
* Provide detailed information about the device.
* Disk usage analysis which provides an overview of the device and
a datailed view of each folder.

But it is yet in testing, you have to activate testing in your section line. After you have installed usbmanager, disable testing.

Good luck
Daniel
