I know that I don't post very often, but in this case I feel that I must. I have to say that I'm pretty disappointed by the responses of some core members (not you, Bald Brick - I liked what you had to say). If I had started this thread and seen some of these responses, it would make me run for the hills, searching for a place where I had a chance to provide input without being lambasted. Somewhere, I read "The PCLinuxOS Magazine is produced by members of the community, for the PCLinuxOS community. As such, you should have some input regarding what you want to see in it (it's been this way all along)." Where did I see that? Ah yes, the first post in the Magazine Article Ideas thread.

These responses also tell me that the magazine volunteers feel very unappreciated right now. If that's the case, I'm sorry to hear it. I know that it's a thankless task, to say the least. I know that the kudos are few, but the criticism flows freely when the tiniest imperfection (or even the appearance of one) is detected. Still, it's no reason to jump all over a member of the community, even if he only has 11 posts. There has to be a better way of dealing with those feelings of frustration than doing this.

With that being said, I now await my turn to be berated for voicing my opinion. Please have mercy on me.

Nicely said!  ;)

No berating here...  No mercy needed.  I only wanted to infer that willigenericos2013's input would be welcome, if he had any good ideas.  Who knows, he might have some excellent ones!

this topic can be deleted

As you started the thread you could actually delete it yourself.

On the other hand there's nothing wrong with your telling us what you'd like to see in the magazine. If you had known that the magazine doesn't have a large well-paid editorial staff, you probably would have expressed yourself differently. On the other hand, that you didn't indicates that the unpaid editors do a first-rate professional job. But you want something more? So really - why not help out?

And what kind of puzzles were you talking about?

+1 as well.

I really wasn't trying to be nasty... but we really do work very hard to put out a quality magazine.. and get kind of defensive when someone says it needs something else to make it good...

We welcome any suggestions you want to make, and hope our comments haven't made you want to go elsewhere. We also welcome new friends like you to the PCLinuxOS Forum, and hope you will stay a long time! (in spite of this thread)

I the the editor's and staff of PCLinuxOS do a wonderful job and read every issue with great interest.

I know how hard it is to put a monthly mag together. and appreciate all the work they do.  and the pay is lousy too :)
