I have been using a Linux distribution of some flavor for 10 years. I have been using PCLinuxOS for about 7 years. I have used other distributions in the past even while using PCLinuxOS. I also look at other distributions even now. I have several distributions running in VirtualBox now. Along the 10 years I think I have checked out all the major distributions. I started out with Mandrake 9.0 aka Mandriva and from my understanding a major portion of the core code in PCLinuxOS comes from Mandriva which started out using Red Hat code. The drake tools are hard to beat. One of the best things the development team did was to bring synaptic from Debian. Much better than the package manger in Red Hat and Mandriva.
I have to say it is just hard to beat PCLinuxOS. This distribution comes the closest to being the perfect distribution for me. It is also the best one I have found for switching MS windows converts to Linux.
Thanks Texstar and team!
