Logitech MX 5500 Keyboard/Mouse Combo
« on: February 20, 2013, 05:32:58 PM »
I have a Ligitech MX 5500 Keyboard & Mouse combo.  It came with & uses a USB/Blue Tooth mini radio.
It has worked with pclos right out of the box, as long as I can remember.
Now, it does not work any more, with updated test 05 or my freshly installed & up dated KDE RC1.
Even just the RC1 live disc fails to work with my favorite Keyboard & Mouse.(it does show up in the control panel though)
Also, the keyboard works in bios, loading pclos, the keyboard & mouse work at grub menu, and windoze works as well.
I am using a beater kb/mouse for now on this pc, and have 2 other boxes I can & will use till a fix is available.
I use only external hdd with this pc, so installing to a fresh drive is no problem.
The last update gave me high hopes, when I noticed the bluez files getting updated, but not yet...
I will continue doing updates, as they become available or if there is something else I should be doing, let me know?
Any help would be great.  No hurry, all the rest of the 64 bit versions are working well on my 3 boxes.
Thanks for all the fine work and time to all who helped make this supper distro.
The troubled pc: Home brew desktop tower with intel mb, intel 2.66 Quad/dual cpu, 8gb ram, ati/amd 6870 video(works fine) and esata card. Usually run from 1-4 external esata drives.
Thanks for reading, Dan
Older then dirt, but still above it...
