I know that I don't post very often, but in this case I feel that I must. I have to say that I'm pretty disappointed by the responses of some core members (not you, Bald Brick - I liked what you had to say). If I had started this thread and seen some of these responses, it would make me run for the hills, searching for a place where I had a chance to provide input without being lambasted. Somewhere, I read "The PCLinuxOS Magazine is produced by members of the community, for the PCLinuxOS community. As such, you should have some input regarding what you want to see in it (it's been this way all along)." Where did I see that? Ah yes, the first post in the Magazine Article Ideas thread.

These responses also tell me that the magazine volunteers feel very unappreciated right now. If that's the case, I'm sorry to hear it. I know that it's a thankless task, to say the least. I know that the kudos are few, but the criticism flows freely when the tiniest imperfection (or even the appearance of one) is detected. Still, it's no reason to jump all over a member of the community, even if he only has 11 posts. There has to be a better way of dealing with those feelings of frustration than doing this.

With that being said, I now await my turn to be berated for voicing my opinion. Please have mercy on me.

JRex,

I certainly hope you don't think that I responded inappropriately to willigenericos. I tried to be diplomatic and offered to listen to his ideas. He and I have already initiated a PM exchange, which I will keep private, but I will tell you that he is a real bugger to pin down on specifics. I have always tried to respect the opinion of others, even when they are wildly different than my own.

But they deserve a 1000% of current salary and more  ;D

Done!!  ;D ;D

Thanks, Old-Polack!

We volunteer because we want/think we can make a difference.

You hit the nail sqarely on the head, YouCanToo. And, I might add, because we care.

Believe me, you guys do make a difference!

Besides being very thankful for you hard work (and results match it entirely!), you'll find that tip no. 1 when greeting a new member or giving others a place to find solutions to various questions, it's always

It's the reference, and for good reason!  ;)

I can't repeat it often enough - thank you!
