Synaptic won't update (fixed)

Just switched from old zen minime to new lxde. My syanptic had two repositories checked. I selected just http://ftp.heanet.ie/pub/pclinuxos/apt/ and clicked reload. It says it could not download all repositories.

I can't find a repository that will download all. I found one that downloads all but one package. Something about megagames. I can't find a repository that lets me update. I'm stuck on Firefox 16, for example. Please help me update.

It is now a while ago, but I think I used Option 3 - I copied and pasted each reference to update the list.

In addition to jimwilk post there were three Firefox 16.x releases between the 9th and 26th of October 2012 so a reasonably long time if you haven't updated your system during that period.

The megagames is the repo hosting a lot of games especially games with a large download "footprint".  You should only have one repo selected unless the second one is megagames.

He had changed from zen mini to lxde, maybe he means install latest lxde iso, and there is the sources.list outdated.

A simple, moment step in my labor....

should solved the problem.

Though I'm grateful for the input, none of the solutions helped. I had to go down the line repository by repository til I found one that loaded all package lists.

Still having problems with lxde due to my unfamiliarity with this flavor. Will post in other topic.
