pitivi video editor segfaults..
« on: February 16, 2013, 06:12:07 PM »
I picked up a GoPro video camera a few days ago and I'm looking for a Linux video editor.  I found one called pitivi ( http://www.pitivi.org/ )  in the repository and installed it.  Unfortunately it won't run.  It wouldn't start up from the Application Launcher, so I tried the command line and see that it segfaults right out of the gate..  (My system is up to date as of about an hour ago).   Is there a fix to this?

Code: [Select]
[jim@localhost ~]$ pitivi
** Message: pygobject_register_sinkfunc is deprecated (GstObject)
Segmentation fault
[jim@localhost ~]$

Edit...  I tried all the stuff in this post http://www.pclinuxos.com/forum/index.php?action=printpage;topic=80260.0

But no luck..  The root commands suggested by Texstar don't work because the source files don't exist.
