Unsure if this is specifically a Red Hat issue or Linux OS's in general

Chrome Ceases Issuing Red Hat WarningsRecently, the Google Chrome browser started issuing wrong warnings about the Linux systems being obsolete. Linux users received the following warning:
“Google Chrome is no longer updating because your operating system is obsolete.”
This resulted in Linux systems like Linux 6 being declared obsolete. The browser actually checks the GTK version that is installed to find out whether or not an OS is supported. An OS with a GTK version earlier than 2.24 was, thus, downgraded as per this Chrome standard of evaluation.
After being brought to the notice of its makers, the browser is now showing an altered message – which is less of a warning and more of a notification:
“Google Chrome has stopped updating and no longer supports this version of your operating system.”However, Linux system users would continue to be unable to update the Chrome browser in their computers. While Chrome would continue to work in their systems, the browser will not receive updates and important security fixes any more – as of now. This is likely to leave the browser more vulnerable to attacks from malicious programs.
