Kickoff PC Menu and capitalisation of application names
« on: February 16, 2013, 11:38:09 AM »
Is the search feature of Kickoff style PC menu case sensitive?

I have just installed KShutdown and it could not find kshutdown but found KShutdown

But playing around with the search more... It seems very flaky. Randomly it decides to show and not show.

If I type ksh it shows but kshu does not show. And once an entry is displayed if you hit Backspace and delete the last typed character it just disappears.

Can anyone else compare please...
Packaging well will cure headaches of many :) But learning to package will cause headaches in many :(

Hey  sling-shot

Just tried using all the entries in your post and the Kickoff menu finds each of them, as does deleting the last character; Alt+F2 finds it as well

As you've just installed them have you tried logging out and back in again?

What do you get using Alt+F2?
PCLinuxOS 32bit KDE 4.10.1; kernel-3.4.11-pclos1.bfs & 64bit 3.2.18bfs; NVidia GeForce 8400GS 1GB 310.19 driver

OK. Alt+F2 does it properly.
Probably logout login might be the answer.
