Camorama
« on: February 15, 2013, 10:55:18 AM »
Camorama is not functioning here so I tried to get some recent info about the application.

This appears to be the camorama site, but if so it implies that the app has not been in development for years (2003? ) ...

http://freecode.com/projects/camorama

According to the change log in my install the last change was 2007!!!!!!!

The home page seems to be inaccessible
 http://camorama.fixedgear.org/

I tried using some of the command line options with varying degrees of success .......

Tried debug ...
Code: [Select]
camorama -D
VIDIOCGCAP  --  could not get camera capabilities, exiting.....

Tried to get version number ...
Code: [Select]
camorama -V
Segmentation fault

I read somewhere about this app and gspca cameras ....  not sure about other cams.

It looks like this is abandoned and non-functioning for a lot of cameras.

Thoughts?

EDIT:
I dug out an old Logitech webcam to see if there would be any change ....  but unfortunately not  :(
